I’m Sara Scimone, I was born in Tirano, a beautiful town among the Italian Alps of Valtellina, in 1978.
I grew up sharing my mother’s passion for reading. The most significant moments of my life are linked to books, words and writing. These are the only means by which I feel at ease in really expressing myself. My passion for reading is accompanied by my passion for hair: touching them, looking at them and styling them is my favorite game, to the point that it actually became a job, which I have done for years until I decided to change completely and to grow professionally and personally.
I started my business in a company that exploits some principles of network marketing (fast growth rate, open to anyone), but with a great attention to training.
Here I’ve found my environment: helping others to grow is now what allows me to be in the highest career position in Italy and to be able to dedicate myself to what I consider important.
I am vice-president of Bechildren onlus, a charity association that helps schooling and raising children in Italy and worldwide.
This is what I have done.
And then there is “WHO I AM”…
Sara, 41, who has discovered to be narcoleptic by watching a video on YouTube and by booking a medical appointment afterwards.
The medical examination was followed by a hospitalization that gave me the official diagnosis: narcolepsy with cataplexy.
Today I am here to share with you what it means to be narcoleptic, to tell you about the symptoms of this rare disease and to give you the opportunity to find a diagnosis, as it was for me, or maybe to help someone you know.
Because there is nothing worse than being called depressed, lazy or sloth when you are just sick.
So… help me “pay it forward” and get to know a world made of sleep, dreams and colors … because being narcoleptic is not just a bed and a sofa, but much, much more !!!
